IISME's Summer Fellowship Program provides paid, challenging, 8-week summer work opportunities for San Francisco Bay Area K-16 educators in corporations and universities. Teachers complete a project for their sponsors and also receive paid time to transfer their Summer Fellowship experience back to their students. - Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Independence High School in San Francisco.
- Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT) in San Jose.
- Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Emery Secondary in Emeryville.
- Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Silver Creek High School in San Jose.
Teachers are eligible to apply for the IISME Summer Fellowship Program if they meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of two years teaching experience in any discipline by June of the current school year.
- Currently teaching any K-16 grade level within the IISME service area: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties.
- Contracted to teach during the 2011-2012 school year within the IISME service area (Administrator verification required).
- Committed to work in education for at least the next three years.
- Have a legal right and necessary documents to work in the U.S. in a non-teaching job.
- Available full-time during standard business hours for the Fellowship period.
